Upton Issues Statement on Votes for Gun Safety Measures

U.S. Rep. Fred Upton, R-St. Joseph, today released the following statement after supporting a number of gun safety measures,
"The Protect Our Kids Act and the Federal Extreme Risk Protection Order Act -- also known as red flag laws -- are commonsense bills that will make our communities safer without infringing on our 2nd Amendment Rights. While I don't agree with every provision, we can't let the perfect be the enemy of the good. Now is the time to turn thoughts and prayers into action. I am encouraged that the Senate may come to a bipartisan agreement in the next couple days that can reach the President's desk before the 4th of July."
